Amber loves NASCAR, four-wheeling, baseball, and Dairy Queen. Many believe Amber is personally responsible for the recent 3rd quarter gains of that Franchise. Amber also loves participating in local Cher look-a-like contest (she's been a runner-up three times!). Amber and her husband Tim have 2 young daughters.

Heather Animal Hospital North Rice Lake Chetek Certified Veterinary Technician Heather is our certified veterinary technician. She joined us in September 2013. Heather holds a certification in veterinary physical therapy and rehabilitation medicine. She has a love for all animals big and small, she has too many pets to list here. In her "free" time she runs her own veterinary physical therapy business - Pawsitively - which operates out of the Eau Claire area. Heather is also a former instructor at Globe University. Heather can also be found volunteering at Bob's House for dogs in Eau Claire. She has two sons, and she is an avid baseball mom. As you can see Heather is very busy person, it is truly amazing that she does everything mentioned above and she still finds time to build robots. Heather played in integral role in the the production of the robot vacuum, but she quit the program just before they hit it big.

She attended Chippewa Valley Technical College where she received her Administrative Assistant's Associate Degree. She and her husband Brian have a teenage son. Amy has 2 dogs, Sophie, a Miniature Dachshund, and Sadie, a Yorkshire Terrier mix her husband rescued from a bad situation. She also has three cats: Murray. Sassy and Stewie. Amy enjoys camping, four-wheeling, and building perpetual motion machines - some say they defy the laws of thermodynamics, Amy says, "those laws were meant to be broken."

Mari-Lyn Animal Hospital North Rice Lake Chetek Vet assistant and Kennel Manager Mari-Lyn is one of our veterinary assistants and our kennel manager. She joined the Animal Hospital of Chetek in May of 2006. She has 3 cats, Jazzie, Crash Anna, and Monster Kitty. A model employee since she was 16, Mari-Lyn knows nearly everyone of our boarding pets by name and all the little things each individual pet needs to be happy.  When not tending to "her Boarders" she spends her work days fighting other staff members to be first in line to trim nails and express anal glands, and of course to sign for FedEx packages. In her free time Mari-Lyn enjoys Hunting, Fishing, Biking, and complaining about her boss.

Kylee Animal Hospital North Rice Lake Chetek Kennel Assistant
Kylee joined our team in February of 2015 as a kennel attendant. She had been bringing her pets to our hospital before she could see over the exam room table. She is currently a home schooled high school student that participates in far too many activities to list. But her favorite pastimes are horseback riding and Katana sword fighting. Kylee has several horses, a diabetic cat, and her easy going dog Rory.

Sara Animal Hospital North Rice Lake Chetek Vet Assistant Sara was working part time at the Humane society and decided she wanted to do more to help animals in need.  Lucky for us that started her on a journey to become a veterinary assistant. She joined our crew in May of 2016 and we couldn't be happier to have her. Sara grew up in Rice Lake and traveled the world prior to returning home. She has a Golden Retriever named Charlie, and a cat named Brisco (Bandit to his friends). Sara spends her free time helping the Humane Society, knitting sweaters for cats, donating goods to the food shelf, and helping her grandmother. When she is not busy being an all around saint, Sara is known to organize the Barron County Arm Wrestling Championship series. She was inspired at a young age by Sylvester Stallone's "Over the Top." And while Sara never developed the biceps to become a champ, she still loves the sport.

Shania Animal Hospital North Rice Lake Chetek certified veterinary technician Shania grew up in Chippewa Falls, she attended Globe University in LaCrosse and became a certified veterinary technician in 2015.  After spending some time out of state she became homesick and we lucked out when she moved back to the area and came on Board in January 2017. Shania enjoys guns, shooting stuff, and working security at local music festivals. She has a German Shepherd named Karl who she hopes to one day clone. Her goal is to raise any army of cloned Karl's and use them to deliver packages. While Shania realizes that Amazon drones are far better suited to the task, Shania insists her Dream will never die.

Melissa Animal Hospital North Rice Lake Chetek Veterinary technician Melissa Started in January 2017 as our intern and performed exceedingly well, so well that we had to hire her.  While her job performance has remained consistently good, we have not taken the time to actually get to know her due to her former intern status. While we believe she has a family and pets, and perhaps a life and interests outside of her interning; we don't really know. As it is we have already wrote too much about an intern.

Nikki is a Military veteran who joined our kennel staff in November of 2016. She has always loved animals and has spent time working in various pet stores before landing in Chetek. Nikki has several exotic animals, primarily bearded dragons.  She has a very young baby and is currently pursuing a degree in psychology. We are unsure if Nikki actually wanted to work here to pursue her love of animals, or if the psychologist in her was drawn to the very strange hobbies many of our staff members seem to have. Regardless, we are very happy to have a veteran within our ranks.
